शैलेऽब्धौ पुरुषेऽवनौ जलधरे भेके शिलायां गजे नानाकारधरा भवन्ति मणयः कर्माणि तेषां विभो ।
ह्लादोच्चाटनमारणज्वरभयभ्रान्तिप्रकाशान्धताखेदोत्तापनभूनभोगतिदृशो नाशो विधानं तथा ॥ १७ ॥

17. O Lord, gems (maṇi) of various forms are found in mountains, in the ocean, within individuals (puruṣa), on the earth, in clouds, in frogs, in rocks, and in elephants. Their powerful effects include causing joy, driving away evil, lethal harm, fever, fear, delusion, illumination, blindness, exhaustion, torment, movement on earth and in the sky, enhanced vision, destruction, and creation.
