योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-4, chapter-33, verse-56

कष्टीकृतमतिर्लोकः संकटेष्वेव मज्जति ।
अनया दुरहंकृत्या भावात्संसक्तया चिरम् ॥ ५६ ॥
kaṣṭīkṛtamatirlokaḥ saṃkaṭeṣveva majjati ,
anayā durahaṃkṛtyā bhāvātsaṃsaktayā ciram 56

56. The world, whose minds are troubled, certainly sinks into difficulties because of this clinging, long-standing, evil ego (ahaṅkāra).
