वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-4, chapter-18, verse-46

न त्वात्मानमहं शोचे न तारां नापि बान्धवान् ।
यथा पुत्रं गुणश्रेष्ठमङ्गदं कनकाङ्गदम् ॥४६॥
46. na tvātmānamahaṃ śoce na tārāṃ nāpi bāndhavān ,
yathā putraṃ guṇaśreṣṭhamaṅgadaṃ kanakāṅgadam.
46. na tu ātmānam aham śoce na tārām na api bāndhavān
| yathā putram guṇaśreṣṭham aṅgadam kanakāṅgadam
46. aham tu ātmānam na śoce,
na tārām,
na api bāndhavān; yathā guṇaśreṣṭham kanakāṅgadam putram aṅgadam (śoce)
46. I do not grieve for myself (ātman), nor for Tara, nor for my relatives, as much as I grieve for my son Angada, who is excellent in qualities and wears golden armlets.
