मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-82, verse-63

छिन्नेऽपि चान्ये शिरसि पतिताः पुनरुत्थिताः ।
कबन्धा युयुधुर्देव्या गृहीतपरमायुधाः ॥६३॥
63. chinne'pi cānye śirasi patitāḥ punarutthitāḥ .
kabandhā yuyudhurdevyā gṛhītaparamāyudhāḥ.
63. chinne api ca anye śirasi patitāḥ punaḥ utthitāḥ
| kabandhāḥ yuyudhuḥ devyā gṛhītaparamāyudhāḥ
63. Even after their heads were severed and fell, other headless trunks (kabandhas) rose up again. These headless trunks, having grasped excellent weapons, continued to fight with the Goddess.
