महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-31, verse-39

तमुत्तीर्णं महाबाहुं गदाहस्तमरिंदमम् ।
मेनिरे सर्वभूतानि दण्डहस्तमिवान्तकम् ॥३९॥
39. tamuttīrṇaṁ mahābāhuṁ gadāhastamariṁdamam ,
menire sarvabhūtāni daṇḍahastamivāntakam.

menire sarvabhūtāni daṇḍahastam iva antakam

39. All beings considered that mighty-armed subduer of enemies, who had emerged with his mace in hand, to be like Death (Antaka) holding his staff.
