महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-255, verse-38

तमेवान्विष भद्रं ते किं ते योधैर्निपातितैः ।
अनामिषमिदं कर्म कथं वा मन्यते भवान् ॥३८॥
38. tamevānviṣa bhadraṁ te kiṁ te yodhairnipātitaiḥ ,
anāmiṣamidaṁ karma kathaṁ vā manyate bhavān.
38. tam eva anviṣa bhadram te kim te yodhaiḥ nipātitaiḥ
anāmiṣam idam karma katham vā manyate bhavān
38. Seek him alone; may it be well with you. What is the use to you of these warriors who have been struck down? Or how do you, sir, consider this action (karma) to be without recompense?
