तस्यां पुर्यां तदा चैव माहिष्मत्यां कुरूद्वह ।
बभूवुरनभिग्राह्या योषितश्छन्दतः किल ॥२३॥

23. O descendant of Kuru, it is said that in that city of Māhiṣmatī, at that time, women were uncontrollable and acted according to their own will.
