महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-28, verse-23

तस्यां पुर्यां तदा चैव माहिष्मत्यां कुरूद्वह ।
बभूवुरनभिग्राह्या योषितश्छन्दतः किल ॥२३॥

23. tasyāṁ puryāṁ tadā caiva māhiṣmatyāṁ kurūdvaha ,
babhūvuranabhigrāhyā yoṣitaśchandataḥ kila.

23. tasyām puryām tadā ca eva māhiṣmatyām kurūdvaha
babhūvuḥ anabhigrāhyāḥ yoṣitaḥ chandataḥ kila

23. O descendant of Kuru, it is said that in that city of Māhiṣmatī, at that time, women were uncontrollable and acted according to their own will.

23. ובאותה עיר מָאהִישְׁמַטִי, הו נושא הקוּרוּ, נעשו אז הנשים בלתי ניתנות להשגה, לפי רצונן.
