महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-28, verse-13

सैन्यक्षयकरं चैव प्राणानां संशयाय च ।
चक्रे तस्य हि साहाय्यं भगवान्हव्यवाहनः ॥१३॥
13. sainyakṣayakaraṁ caiva prāṇānāṁ saṁśayāya ca ,
cakre tasya hi sāhāyyaṁ bhagavānhavyavāhanaḥ.
13. sainyakṣayakaram ca eva prāṇānām saṃśayāya ca
cakre tasya hi sāhāyyam bhagavān havyavāhanaḥ
13. Indeed, that battle caused the destruction of armies and endangered lives. The divine carrier of oblations (havyavāhana), Agni, surely gave him (Sahadeva) assistance.
