महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-134, verse-39

न चन्द्रसूर्यौ न तरुं पुंनाम्नो या निरीक्षते ।
भर्तृवर्जं वरारोहा सा भवेद्धर्मचारिणी ॥३९॥
39. na candrasūryau na taruṁ puṁnāmno yā nirīkṣate ,
bhartṛvarjaṁ varārohā sā bhaveddharmacāriṇī.
39. na candra-sūryau na tarum puṃ-nāmnaḥ yā nirīkṣate
bhartṛ-varjam vara-ārohā sā bhavet dharma-cāriṇī
39. yā vara-ārohā bhartṛ-varjam candra-sūryau na nirīkṣate
na tarum puṃ-nāmnaḥ nirīkṣate sā dharma-cāriṇī bhavet
39. That beautiful woman who, excluding her husband, does not gaze upon the moon and the sun, nor any man, truly becomes a wife who performs her marital duty (dharma).
