महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-134, verse-22

भीष्म उवाच ।
एवं सर्वाः सरिच्छ्रेष्ठाः पृष्टाः पुण्यतमाः शिवाः ।
ततो देवनदी गङ्गा नियुक्ता प्रतिपूज्य ताम् ॥२२॥
22. bhīṣma uvāca ,
evaṁ sarvāḥ saricchreṣṭhāḥ pṛṣṭāḥ puṇyatamāḥ śivāḥ ,
tato devanadī gaṅgā niyuktā pratipūjya tām.

22. Bhīṣma said: Thus, all the best, most sacred, and auspicious rivers were questioned. Then, the divine river Gaṅgā, being designated (to speak), having shown reverence to her (the questioner), proceeded.
