सतां धर्मेण धर्मज्ञः कृत्वा कर्मातिमानुषम् ।
भ्रातुर्विचित्रवीर्यस्य विवाहायोपचक्रमे ।
सत्यवत्या सह मिथः कृत्वा निश्चयमात्मवान् ॥४६॥

46. The resolute Bhishma, a knower of dharma, having performed that superhuman feat for the sake of the good, secretly made a decision with Satyavati and then began the arrangements for his brother Vichitravirya's marriage.

46. בְּהִישְׁמַה, היודע את דרך היושר, עשה מעשה מעל לכוחות האדם לפי דרך הצדיקים, ובהתייעצות עם סַטְיַוַטִי קבע את החלטתו, ובעל שליטה עצמית החל להכין את חתונת אחיו וִיצ׳ִיטְרַוִירְיַה.
