पुरा कृतं महेन्द्रस्य वज्रं वृत्रनिबर्हणे ।
दशधा शतधा चैव तच्छीर्णं वृत्रमूर्धनि ॥४७॥

47. Long ago, the thunderbolt (vajra) of the great Indra, fashioned for slaying Vṛtra, shattered into ten, and even a hundred, pieces upon Vṛtra's head.
