अन्नपानाङ्गनासङ्गादृते नास्तीह किंचन ।
शुभमस्त्विति संवादि महान्किमिव वाञ्छतु ॥ १ ॥

Śrī Vasiṣṭha said: Apart from the attachment to food, drink, and women, there is nothing substantial here. What does a great soul (mahān) truly desire when one merely says, "May there be auspiciousness"?
