मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-76, verse-4

जातिस्मरः स जातो वै मातुरुत्सङ्गमास्थितः ।
जहास तं तदा माता संक्रुद्धा वाक्यमब्रवीत् ॥४॥
4. jātismaraḥ sa jāto vai māturutsaṅgamāsthitaḥ .
jahāsa taṃ tadā mātā saṃkruddhā vākyamabravīt.
4. jātismaraḥ saḥ jātaḥ vai mātuḥ utsaṅgam āsthitaḥ
jahāsa tam tadā mātā saṃkruddhā vākyam abravīt
4. A child who remembered his past lives (jātismara) was born and placed on his mother's lap. He laughed, and his mother, enraged at this, then spoke to him.
