अथैनं निशितैर्बाणैः सात्यकिः प्रत्यविध्यत ।
सारथिं च महाराज त्रिभिरेव समार्दयत् ।
अथास्य वाहांस्त्वरितः शरैर्निन्ये यमक्षयम् ॥४४॥

44. athainaṁ niśitairbāṇaiḥ sātyakiḥ pratyavidhyata ,
sārathiṁ ca mahārāja tribhireva samārdayat ,
athāsya vāhāṁstvaritaḥ śarairninye yamakṣayam.

44. atha enam niśitaiḥ bāṇaiḥ sātyakiḥ
prati avidhyata sārathiṃ ca mahārāja
tribhiḥ eva samārdayat atha asya
vāhān tvaritaḥ śaraiḥ ninye yamakṣayam

44. mahārāja atha sātyakiḥ enam niśitaiḥ bāṇaiḥ
pratyavidhyata ca tribhiḥ eva (bāṇaiḥ)

44. O great King, then Satyaki struck him (Shakuni) back with sharp arrows and wounded his charioteer with just three (arrows). Then, swiftly, he sent his horses to the abode of Yama (the god of death) with (more) arrows.
