महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-44, verse-21

हताश्वात्तु ततो यानादवप्लुत्य महारथः ।
शक्तिं चिक्षेप कर्णाय संक्रुद्धः शत्रुतापनः ॥२१॥
21. hatāśvāttu tato yānādavaplutya mahārathaḥ ,
śaktiṁ cikṣepa karṇāya saṁkruddhaḥ śatrutāpanaḥ.

śaktim cikṣepa karṇāya saṃkruddhaḥ śatrutāpanaḥ

21. But then, that great charioteer (Shikhaṇḍī), having jumped down from his chariot whose horses had been killed, greatly enraged and a tormentor of enemies, threw a spear (śakti) at Karna.
