महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-44, verse-23

कर्णचापच्युतान्बाणान्वर्जयंस्तु नरोत्तमः ।
अपयातस्ततस्तूर्णं शिखण्डी जयतां वरः ॥२३॥
23. karṇacāpacyutānbāṇānvarjayaṁstu narottamaḥ ,
apayātastatastūrṇaṁ śikhaṇḍī jayatāṁ varaḥ.

23. But Shikhandin, that best among men and foremost among victors, evading the arrows released from Karna's bow, swiftly withdrew from there.
