महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-127, verse-52

राजपिण्डभयादेते यदि हास्यन्ति जीवितम् ।
न हि शक्ष्यन्ति राजानं युधिष्ठिरमुदीक्षितुम् ॥५२॥

52. rājapiṇḍabhayādete yadi hāsyanti jīvitam ,
na hi śakṣyanti rājānaṁ yudhiṣṭhiramudīkṣitum.

52. If these (warriors), out of fear of the royal patronage (or the obligation from having accepted the king's sustenance), are to sacrifice their lives, then they will certainly not be able to look King Yudhishthira in the face.
