The son of Satyavatī (Satyavatīsutaḥ) himself assumed the role of the chief priest (brahmatvam). Susāmā, the foremost (ṛṣabhaḥ) among those called Dhanañjaya, became the chanter of the Sāma Veda (sāmagah).
