ऋषिरुद्दालकिर्दीक्षामुपगम्य ततः सुतम् ।
त्वं मामुपचरस्वेति नाचिकेतमभाषत ।
समाप्ते नियमे तस्मिन्महर्षिः पुत्रमब्रवीत् ॥३॥

3. ṛṣiruddālakirdīkṣāmupagamya tataḥ sutam ,

The sage Uddālaka, having undertaken the initiation (dīkṣā), then said to his son Nachiketa, "You should attend to me." When that vow (niyama) was completed, the great sage spoke again to his son.
