महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-318, verse-49

कथं त्वहमसंक्लिष्टो गच्छेयं परमां गतिम् ।
नावर्तेयं यथा भूयो योनिसंसारसागरे ॥४९॥
49. kathaṁ tvahamasaṁkliṣṭo gaccheyaṁ paramāṁ gatim ,
nāvarteyaṁ yathā bhūyo yonisaṁsārasāgare.
49. katham tu aham asaṃkliṣṭaḥ gaccheyam parām gatim
na āvarteyam yathā bhūyaḥ yonisaṃsārasāgare
49. katham tu aham asaṃkliṣṭaḥ parām gatim gaccheyam
yathā bhūyaḥ yonisaṃsārasāgare na āvarteyam
49. How, then, might I, remaining free from affliction, attain the supreme state? How can I ensure that I do not return again to the ocean of rebirth and transmigration (saṃsāra)?
