But one erroneously perceives the transformation (viparyāsa) of beings, believing that [the true self, puruṣa] has ceased to exist. Indeed, such a cessation is not what should be understood or sought. No, for [the true self, puruṣa] is beyond (paraḥ) nature (prakṛti).
