महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-126, verse-36

राजोवाच ।
कृशाकृशे मया ब्रह्मन्गृहीते वचनात्तव ।
दुर्लभत्वं च तस्यैव वेदवाक्यमिव द्विज ॥३६॥
36. rājovāca ,
kṛśākṛśe mayā brahmangṛhīte vacanāttava ,
durlabhatvaṁ ca tasyaiva vedavākyamiva dvija.
36. rājā uvāca kṛśākṛśe mayā brahman gṛhīte vachanāt
tava durlabhatvam ca tasya eva vedavākyam iva dvija
36. rājā uvāca brahman dvija tava vachanāt mayā kṛśākṛśe
gṛhīte tasya durlabhatvam ca vedavākyam iva eva
36. The King said: 'O Brahmin, by your words, both the meager and the non-meager have been accepted by me. And indeed, O Twice-born (dvija), its (desire's) elusive nature (durlabhatva) is like a Vedic statement.'
