Here, the latent impression (vāsanā) of the conventional relationship (saṃketa) between a word (śabda) and its meaning (śabdārtha) is not inherent to consciousness (saṃvidā). Because consciousness (cit) is like infinite space (vyoma), both (word and meaning) merely appear within it. Therefore, abandon the notions (mati) of 'existence' (sat) and 'non-existence' (asat).
