मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-20, verse-42

तन्तु शत्रुजितं तात पूर्वं कश्चिदिद्वजोत्तमः ।
गालवोऽभ्यागमद्धीमान् गृहीत्वा तुरगोत्तमम् ॥४२॥
42. tantu śatrujitaṃ tāta pūrvaṃ kaścididvajottamaḥ .
gālavo'bhyāgamaddhīmān gṛhītvā turagottamam.
42. tam tu śatrujitam tāta pūrvam kaścit dvijottamaḥ
gālavaḥ abhyāgamat dhīmān gṛhītvā turagottamam
42. But, O father, previously, a certain excellent brahmin, the wise Gālava, approached that Śatrujit, taking the best horse.
