ते तत्र गत्वा विबुधास्तं कूपं यत्र स त्रितः ।
ददृशुस्तं महात्मानं दीक्षितं यज्ञकर्मसु ॥४०॥

40. te tatra gatvā vibudhāstaṁ kūpaṁ yatra sa tritaḥ ,
dadṛśustaṁ mahātmānaṁ dīkṣitaṁ yajñakarmasu.

40. Having gone there, those wise gods saw that great soul (mahātman) Trita in the well, consecrated for the performance of Vedic rituals (yajña-karma).
