महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-35, verse-18

याज्येन कर्मणा तेन प्रतिगृह्य विधानतः ।
प्राचीं दिशं महात्मान आजग्मुस्ते महर्षयः ॥१८॥

18. Having accepted (the offerings) in accordance with the rules through that sacrificial (yajya) ritual (karma), those great-souled (mahātman) great sages (maharṣi) then journeyed to the eastern direction.
