महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-35, verse-29

त्रित आत्मानमालक्ष्य कूपे वीरुत्तृणावृते ।
निमग्नं भरतश्रेष्ठ पापकृन्नरके यथा ॥२९॥
29. trita ātmānamālakṣya kūpe vīruttṛṇāvṛte ,
nimagnaṁ bharataśreṣṭha pāpakṛnnarake yathā.

29. O best of Bharatas, Trita, perceiving himself (ātman) sunken in the well, which was covered with creepers and grass, was like a sinner fallen into hell.
