महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-35, verse-32

पांसुग्रस्ते ततः कूपे विचिन्त्य सलिलं मुनिः ।
अग्नीन्संकल्पयामास होत्रे चात्मानमेव च ॥३२॥
32. pāṁsugraste tataḥ kūpe vicintya salilaṁ muniḥ ,
agnīnsaṁkalpayāmāsa hotre cātmānameva ca.

32. Then, the sage, contemplating the water in the well that was covered with dust, resolved to consecrate the fires and himself (ātman) as the priest (hotṛ) for the ritual.
