महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-35, verse-31

स एवमनुसंचिन्त्य तस्मिन्कूपे महातपाः ।
ददर्श वीरुधं तत्र लम्बमानां यदृच्छया ॥३१॥
31. sa evamanusaṁcintya tasminkūpe mahātapāḥ ,
dadarśa vīrudhaṁ tatra lambamānāṁ yadṛcchayā.
31. saḥ evam anusaṃcintya tasmin kūpe mahātapaḥ
dadarśa vīrudham tatra lambamānām yadṛcchayā
31. saḥ mahātapaḥ evam tasmin kūpe anusaṃcintya
tatra yadṛcchayā lambamānām vīrudham dadarśa
31. Thus, having reflected in that well, the great ascetic (tapasvin) saw a creeper hanging there by chance.
