कर्णपुत्रौ च राजेन्द्र भ्रातरौ सत्यविक्रमौ ।
अनाशयेतां बलिनः पाञ्चालान्वै ततस्ततः ।
तत्र युद्धं तदा ह्यासीत्क्रूरं विशसनं महत् ॥५६॥

56. karṇaputrau ca rājendra bhrātarau satyavikramau ,
anāśayetāṁ balinaḥ pāñcālānvai tatastataḥ ,
tatra yuddhaṁ tadā hyāsītkrūraṁ viśasanaṁ mahat.

56. ca rājendra,
satyavikramau karṇaputrau bhrātarau balinaḥ pāñcālān vai tataḥ tataḥ anāśayetām.

56. And, O king of kings, the two sons of Karṇa, who were brothers of true valor, certainly caused the powerful Pāñcālas to perish everywhere. At that time, indeed, there was a great, cruel, and destructive battle.
