महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-56, verse-55

राजा दुःशासनश्चैव कृपः शारद्वतस्तथा ।
अश्वत्थामा कृतवर्मा शकुनिश्चापि सौबलः ।
न्यहनन्पाण्डवीं सेनां शतशोऽथ सहस्रशः ॥५५॥
55. rājā duḥśāsanaścaiva kṛpaḥ śāradvatastathā ,
aśvatthāmā kṛtavarmā śakuniścāpi saubalaḥ ,
nyahananpāṇḍavīṁ senāṁ śataśo'tha sahasraśaḥ.
55. rājā duḥśāsanaḥ ca eva kṛpaḥ śāradvataḥ
tathā aśvatthāmā kṛtavarmā
śakuniḥ ca api saubalaḥ nyahanant
pāṇḍavīm senām śataśaḥ atha sahasraśaḥ
55. rājā duḥśāsanaḥ ca eva,

ca api saubalaḥ śakuniḥ,
(ime sarve) pāṇḍavīm senām śataśaḥ atha sahasraśaḥ nyahanant.
55. King Duḥśāsana, along with Kṛpa, son of Śaradvan, and also Aśvatthāmā, Kṛtavarmā, and Śakuni, son of Subala, struck down the Pāṇḍava army by hundreds and then by thousands.
