महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-56, verse-20

सात्यकेस्तु धनुश्छित्त्वा ध्वजं च पुरुषर्षभः ।
अथैनं नवभिर्बाणैराजघान स्तनान्तरे ॥२०॥
20. sātyakestu dhanuśchittvā dhvajaṁ ca puruṣarṣabhaḥ ,
athainaṁ navabhirbāṇairājaghāna stanāntare.

atha enaṃ navabhiḥ bāṇaiḥ ājaghāna stanāntare

20. But the bull among men (Karna), having cut Satyaki's bow and banner, then struck him in the middle of the chest with nine arrows.
