Vaishampayana said: O lord of men (manujādhipa), everyone must reach their destination at the culmination of their actions (karma). Listen, O king, O best of Bharatas (Bharatarṣabha), to this secret of the gods, which was spoken by the greatly effulgent, divinely-sighted, and powerful sage.
