महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-18, chapter-5, verse-35

य इदं श्रावयेद्विद्वान्सदा पर्वणि पर्वणि ।
धूतपाप्मा जितस्वर्गो ब्रह्मभूयाय गच्छति ॥३५॥
35. ya idaṁ śrāvayedvidvānsadā parvaṇi parvaṇi ,
dhūtapāpmā jitasvargo brahmabhūyāya gacchati.
35. yaḥ idaṃ śrāvayet vidvān sadā parvaṇi parvaṇi
dhūtapāpmā jitasvargaḥ brahmabhūyāya gacchati
35. yaḥ vidvān sadā parvaṇi parvaṇi idaṃ śrāvayet

35. Whoever, being learned, causes this (text) to be recited always on every festival occasion, becomes one whose sins are cast off, who has attained heaven, and who proceeds towards becoming (brahman).
