महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-18, chapter-2, verse-17

तमसा संवृतं घोरं केशशैवलशाद्वलम् ।
युक्तं पापकृतां गन्धैर्मांसशोणितकर्दमम् ॥१७॥
17. tamasā saṁvṛtaṁ ghoraṁ keśaśaivalaśādvalam ,
yuktaṁ pāpakṛtāṁ gandhairmāṁsaśoṇitakardamam.
