महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-84, verse-6

दौष्कुलेयाश्च लुब्धाश्च नृशंसा निरपत्रपाः ।
ते त्वां तात निषेवेयुर्यावदार्द्रकपाणयः ॥६॥

6. dauṣkuleyāśca lubdhāśca nṛśaṁsā nirapatrapāḥ ,
te tvāṁ tāta niṣeveyuryāvadārdrakapāṇayaḥ.

6. dauṣkuleyāḥ ca lubdhāḥ ca nṛśaṃsāḥ nirapatrapāḥ
| te tvām tāta niṣeveyuḥ yāvat ārdraka-pāṇayaḥ

6. tāta,
dauṣkuleyāḥ ca lubdhāḥ ca nṛśaṃsāḥ ca nirapatrapāḥ te yāvat ārdraka-pāṇayaḥ (syuḥ tāvat eva) tvām niṣeveyuḥ.

6. But those of ignoble birth, greedy, cruel, and shameless – O dear one, let them serve you only as long as their hands are 'wet' (i.e., they are receiving gifts).
