महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-84, verse-46

नास्य छिद्रं परः पश्येच्छिद्रेषु परमन्वियात् ।
गूहेत्कूर्म इवाङ्गानि रक्षेद्विवरमात्मनः ॥४६॥
46. nāsya chidraṁ paraḥ paśyecchidreṣu paramanviyāt ,
gūhetkūrma ivāṅgāni rakṣedvivaramātmanaḥ.
46. na asya chidram paraḥ paśyet chidreṣu param anviyāt
gūhet kūrmaḥ iva aṅgāni rakṣet vivaram ātmanaḥ
46. paraḥ asya chidram na paśyet; chidreṣu param anviyāt.
kūrmaḥ iva aṅgāni gūhet,
ātmanaḥ vivaram rakṣet
46. An enemy should not see his (the king's) weakness; rather, one should seek out the enemy's weaknesses. One should conceal one's vulnerable points like a tortoise withdrawing its limbs, and protect one's own weaknesses (ātman).
