महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-84, verse-15

तस्यैवं वर्तमानस्य पुरुषस्य विजानतः ।
अमित्राः संप्रसीदन्ति ततो मित्रीभवन्त्यपि ॥१५॥
15. tasyaivaṁ vartamānasya puruṣasya vijānataḥ ,
amitrāḥ saṁprasīdanti tato mitrībhavantyapi.
15. tasya evam vartamānasya puruṣasya vijānataḥ
amitrāḥ samprasīdanti tataḥ mitrī bhavanti api
15. vijānataḥ evam vartamānasya tasya puruṣasya
amitrāḥ samprasīdanti tataḥ api mitrī bhavanti
15. For a discerning person (puruṣa) who conducts himself in this way, his enemies become pacified, and then they even turn into friends.
