महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-11, chapter-16, verse-15

श्रान्तानां चाप्यनाथानां नासीत्काचन चेतना ।
पाञ्चालकुरुयोषाणां कृपणं तदभून्महत् ॥१५॥
15. śrāntānāṁ cāpyanāthānāṁ nāsītkācana cetanā ,
pāñcālakuruyoṣāṇāṁ kṛpaṇaṁ tadabhūnmahat.
15. śrāntānām ca api anāthānām na āsīt kācana cetanā
pāñcālakuruyoṣāṇām kṛpaṇam tat abhūt mahat
15. śrāntānām ca api anāthānām pāñcālakuruyoṣāṇām
kācana cetanā na āsīt tat kṛpaṇam mahat abhūt
15. For the weary and helpless Pañcāla and Kuru women, there was no consciousness or awareness. Their suffering was truly great and pitiable.
