अन्धकूपे निपतितं विपुले संकटेऽथवा ।
अथवा रूढमात्मानं खमाभं पादपं गिरिम् ॥ ३९ ॥

39. (One sees one's) self (ātman) fallen into a dark well or into great distress; or (one sees one's) self (ātman) mounted upon a tree or a mountain that is vast like the sky.
