यदेन्द्रियाणि तिष्ठन्ति बाह्यतश्च समाकुलम् ।
तदा म्लानानुभवनः संकल्पार्थोऽनुभूयते ॥ २ ॥

yadā indriyāṇi bāhyataḥ ca samākulam tiṣṭhanti,
tadā mlānānubhavanaḥ saṃkalpārthaḥ anubhūyate .

When the senses are externally active and agitated, then a conceptual object (saṃkalpa-artha), whose experience is faint, is perceived.
