योगवासिष्ठः yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-3, chapter-54, verse-66

यथा लतायाः पर्वाणि दीर्घाया मध्यमध्यतः ।
तथा चेतनसत्ताया जन्मानि मरणानि च ॥ ६६ ॥

yathā latāyāḥ parvāṇi dīrghāyā madhyamadhyataḥ ,
tathā cetanasattāyā janmāni maraṇāni ca 66

66. Just as a long creeper has segments at intervals, so too, for conscious existence (cetana sattā), there are births and deaths.

66. כשם שבמטפס ארוך ישנן פרקים וקשרים לכל אורכו, כך גם הלידות והמיתות מופיעות ברצף קיומה של התודעה.
