वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-5, chapter-2, verse-54

चन्द्रो ऽपि साचिव्यमिवास्य कुर्वंस्तारागणैर्मध्यगतो विराजन् ।
ज्योत्स्नावितानेन वितत्य लोकमुत्तिष्ठते नैकसहस्ररश्मिः ॥५४॥
54. candro'pi sācivyamivāsya kurvaṃstārāgaṇairmadhyagato virājan ,
jyotsnāvitānena vitatya lokamuttiṣṭhate naikasahasraraśmiḥ.

54. The moon also, shining amidst the clusters of stars and as if rendering assistance to him (Rāvaṇa), rose, spreading its canopy of moonlight over the world with its many thousands of rays.
