The noble-minded (manasvī) Saumitri (Lakṣmaṇa), distressed and weakened by his brother's despair (viṣāda), having observed him (Rāma) in a solitary place (vijane), alone and unconscious, completely overcome by unbearable anxiety, then spoke to Rāma.
