महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-95, verse-22

स रक्ष्यमाणः पार्थेन तथास्माभिर्विवर्जितः ।
यथा भीष्मं न नो हन्याद्दुःशासन तथा कुरु ॥२२॥
22. sa rakṣyamāṇaḥ pārthena tathāsmābhirvivarjitaḥ ,
yathā bhīṣmaṁ na no hanyādduḥśāsana tathā kuru.
22. saḥ rakṣyamāṇaḥ pārtena tathā asmābhiḥ vivarjitaḥ
yathā bhīṣmaḥ na naḥ hanyāt duḥśāsana tathā kuru
22. duḥśāsana! saḥ (bhīṣmaḥ) pārtena rakṣyamāṇaḥ,
tathā asmābhiḥ vivarjitaḥ (asti).
yathā bhīṣmaḥ naḥ na hanyāt,
tathā kuru.
22. He (Bhīṣma), being protected by Pārtha (arjuna) and consequently forsaken by us (Kauravas in our full reliance), Duḥśāsana, act in such a way that Bhīṣma (bhīṣma) does not kill us.
