महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-9, verse-35

निकृत्तेषु ततस्तेषु निष्क्रामंस्त्रिशिरास्त्वथ ।
कपिञ्जलास्तित्तिराश्च कलविङ्काश्च सर्वशः ॥३५॥
35. nikṛtteṣu tatasteṣu niṣkrāmaṁstriśirāstvatha ,
kapiñjalāstittirāśca kalaviṅkāśca sarvaśaḥ.
35. nikṛtteṣu tataḥ teṣu niṣkrāman triśirāḥ tu atha
kapiñjalāḥ tittirāḥ ca kalaviṅkāḥ ca sarvaśaḥ
35. When those [heads] were cut off, then the three-headed one emerged as partridges, francolins, and kalaviṅka birds of all kinds.
