महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-40, verse-45

ततश्चटचटाशब्दः सुघोरः समजायत ।
पाण्डवस्य च मुष्टीनां किरातस्य च युध्यतः ॥४५॥
45. tataścaṭacaṭāśabdaḥ sughoraḥ samajāyata ,
pāṇḍavasya ca muṣṭīnāṁ kirātasya ca yudhyataḥ.

45. Then, a very dreadful cracking and thudding sound arose from the fists of the fighting Pāṇḍava and the Kirāta.
