महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-42, verse-37

वैश्वदेवी मनःपूर्वा वागध्यात्ममिहोच्यते ।
वक्तव्यमधिभूतं च वह्निस्तत्राधिदैवतम् ॥३७॥
37. vaiśvadevī manaḥpūrvā vāgadhyātmamihocyate ,
vaktavyamadhibhūtaṁ ca vahnistatrādhidaivatam.
37. vaiśvadevī manaḥpūrvā vāk adhyātmam iha ucyate
vaktavyam adhibhūtam ca vahniḥ tatra adhidaivatam
37. Here, speech (vāk), which is universal and mind-preceded, is called the internal faculty (adhyātma). That which is to be spoken is its material aspect (adhibhūtam), and Vahni is its presiding deity.
