महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-42, verse-20

अचराण्यपि भूतानि खेचराणि तथैव च ।
अण्डजानि विजानीयात्सर्वांश्चैव सरीसृपान् ॥२०॥

20. One should understand that immobile beings, as well as those that move in the sky, and indeed all reptiles, are considered to be born from eggs (aṇḍaja).
